Hey Chris,
Wouldnt you just love it if you only had the one customer (Cyberkid), who you were able to jump to instantly?
And Cyberkid, if you're looking at DMX control desks, take a peek at the Behringer at
www.behringer.com Looks like an amzing desk for the price.
I had a quick (30 seconds) look on GOOGLE and found two Soundlab DMX controllers, the G018E 96 DMX CONTROLLER and the G018F 64 DMX CONTROLLER.

Searched the web for DMX controllers. Results 1 - 10 of about 16,900. Search took 0.50 seconds
Straight from Google, you should find what you require there !!
Google's web address !!

Tell me EXCATELY what you want and I will spent 2 minutes (tops) looking it up for you. In fact if you wanted a Soundlab ABC123 Just type that into the google search bar, then to keep it simple click the UK Only websites and read to your hearts content.
Once you have the model you require post it here and Chris will give a competitive quote for you.

Cyberkid has already had a quote from me Andy. I still think that this is over the top for a laser since it is more suited to controlling Mirror Pan & Tilt and Gobo & colour change in intelligent scanners or moonflowers!.
All the DMX effectively does on the apollo's is to turn the beam on and off and select a pattern. It doesn't give you any control of the mirror.
Here is the soundlab controller - more than 75% of the features you see will not be applicable when controlling the laser. You'll only need to use one fader for example!.
I prefer to be entirely truthful with any advice I give, even it means losing a sale. I seriously think that you would be spending a lot of money and gaining very little.
On another note I try and give advice as soon as possible - sometimes it can be within minutes, overtimes it may take a day or so. Don't forget that like most D.J's - I am a sole trader which means I handle everything from taking enquiries, packing goods, arranging carrier collections, dealing with suppliers, visiting customers and updating the forum - as well as running a busy mobile disco to boot. I apologise if this means that you may have to wait for a while when submitting a request for quote. I do have to prioritise enquiries and work load and doing things like taking pictures, editing them in photo shop and uploading them to the forum comes AFTER packing goods for a customer who has ordered and may want a priority delivery by 9AM for following day or dealing with a customer who may be having problems with a product.
I work around 18 hours a day. This isn't a moan, since I do enjoy what I do (Sometimes!) but Orders are usually processed during the day and enquries handled during the evening or the following morning. There will soon be a support area on this forum which will allow you to chat directly with me via the forum, whenever i'm online. Although this will be limited to Evenings.

I have the same dmx controller that was supplied to me by Chris as part of a soundlab scanner package, chris told me at the time i would never use the controller did I listen "no" was he right ? "yes" unless you are using it as part of a fixed installation I dont think you will ever use it , unless you get one with built in programmes and maybe also has a built in mic on the dmx controll unit.
I have found it much easier just to link the scanners as master to slaves and let them do their own thing sound to light
I also do the same thing with the lasers

Which wouldn't really work since you either have Sound Operated or DMX modes of operation with the Apollo - in DMX mode the mic on the laser is disabled. The point of DMX is to give manual operation. even if you programmed the controller with a custom program it would only sequence through it at the same speed as it does now - but you would LOSE the sound activation in DMX mode!!!.

i have a DMX laser.
am wanting to control it by hand and loss the mic like i was saying before, i only want to program some functions on the laser.
ie just the tunnels on one off the channels and the flat beams on another channel. i dont mind lossing the sound activation, am just woundering coes the dmx desk does that.
i lend my laser out to me local club and they use there own dmx desk and we have programed it to use only a few off the pattons that the laser does.
am wanting to get my own little dmx desk u see so i can do the same when i ever get to do gigs.
sorry for all the confuzzing am just not very good at explaining stuff

For a definative answer , why dont you take your laser to a local supplier and ask them for a demo?, hooking your laser to the dmx desk , I am sure they would be more then happy to assist

Or hire one from the dealer, who would take the hire price off the selling, so if the control was £150 (A COMPLETE GUESS) and to hire it for one night was £20 then you could than buy the controller after you have tested it for £130.
