Hmmm, okay we've discussed some pretty long playlist's on this forum, but this one really does take the censored.gif

Here is the Playlist for Richard's gig (an 18th birthday) on Saturday Night!.

Go put the kettle on!

censored.gif censored.gif I thought mine was bad for tomorrow night (52 songs listed) but that takes the biscuit. I haven't counted them but how many days is this function gonna last? You could have done this one even with a sore throat cos there ain't gonna be any time for talking.

The one advantage with a list like that is you can just select the good ones for playing. Good luck Richard & see you in about 3 or 4 days! biggrin.gif

That's more than some DJ's carry.

Ok so i'm sad!!! I counted as far as I could make out 314 tracks at an average of 4 mins per track it still means this gig is gonna last 20.9 hours!!!! I trust the fee is in line with that amount of playing time?? 071.gif

OK normal list, the question you ask "Richard" is, "what don't you want played"

I didn't know Dan Hartman did Relight My Fire, and theres a couple of others there that don't tally. Is "Richard" a confused lad????

Yep, Dan Hartman did the original of this. It was the follow up to Instant replay.

Those of you into rock may remember a band called The Edgar Winter Group in the 70's who had one fantastic track called 'Frankenstein', well Dan was a member of that group!!
Frankenstein and Instant replay couldn't be furhter apart musically wacko.gif

...I seem to remember Frankenstein having some great stereo effects.

Do the whole lot as a megamix... you should then be able to fit the entire set into about 6 minutes.

Well...J J J Jive bunny (c'mon) managed to.... 042.gif

12 Abba songs in a row please........
Dukesy
Hmmm?

I'm not allowed to do it, but as 'suggested', the whole list, in that order could be mixed as a 'MASTER-MIX!'

In fact - if the 'hirer's want that list in the exact order without the experience and crowd reading skills of a DJ - tell them to get a censored.gif jukebox!!!!

Even with software like PCDJ, it's a lot of sodding about!

Perhaps, the client is providing a playlist of desireable songs from certain artiste's?
(in other words, if you're gonna play music Mr or Mrs DJ - I want a selection from this lot!!!)
If this is the case - what a doddle!!!!!!! laugh.gif

Also Dan Hartman released a fab US album in the late 80's called Second Nature with the title track and others.....

a rocky album for sure...with a couple of classic dance tracks too!

For the original version of Todd Terry's Keep on Dancing, check out the original by the Saturday Night Band..I know I have the orig on Prelude! great lp and single....

Also anything by the Fatback Band including their first single "Street Dance"

I was working in the nightclubs of London and elsewhere in the mid-late 70's Dan Hartman's Instant Replay was massive, along with Sweet Thunder's Everyone's Singing lovesongs, and Ten Per Cent by Double Exposure, and Ripple's The Beat Goes on...on Salsoul!

Plus some fab reggae on Hawkeye and Cha Cha records and Black Joy records..but that for a different thread:)

also useful stuff for parties etc

are some Scottish and Irish Traditional music CDs

as someone who regularly works in Southern and Northern(ish) Ireland and Scotland...

Scottish: think Flower of Scotland and Jimmy Shand

Irish think Reels and Jigs, and Domonic Kirwan and Daniel O' Donnell

Spain french German Italian Arabic or Hebrew music check out a company called Stern's in London

Music from all over the world!
