Sorry to complicate things, Pauly, but you said `the best`. The best what? As far as floor fillers goes its has to be Sissor sisters-I don`t feel ilke dance....

The song I have liked (in general) this year is defo Snow patrol--Chasing cars, I think it an excellent tune. There is actually a dance version of this as well somewhere which again is excellent..

I think Scissor Sisters will runaway with it must be the most popual tune requested durring any night and how many times do you have to play it in one night, I think we played 3 times one night have to say its a wicked tune.

There other close to it

Shakira, Hips dont lie, Rock this party Bob Sinclar, Monsters Automatic to name a few.

I think this year there has been a slight turn around in the style of tunes quite a few are enjoyable in the charts which makes a great change.

Just to let you know that nominations will close early next week (not exactly sure when due to workload). A poll will then be compiled so you can vote for your favourites. With so many nominations already it might be an idea to split it into categories 533.gif

In the meantime if there's any more you would like to add then please do so.

I will notify the winning artist(s) that DJU have selected them as the producing the Best Single of 2006 so vote wisely!
Dukesy
I liked and played the 'Call Me Al' version by NRG but I don't think it will count for 2006???
Maybe if there is a 2007 poll perhaps?

For me, one the best singles in 2006 was 'Crazy' by Gnarls Barkley.
And their video directed by Robert Hales was clever. Can't we have a best video poll too!!!!
Their other track 'Smiley Faces' is popular at gigs too and maybe worth adding to the nominations.
C.S
Justin timberlake - sexyback , a bit of a step forward i thought.
RichardP
FYI, I read yesterday that iTunes top selling single download of 2006 was Gnarls Barkley's Crazy, with Scissor Sisters' I Don't Feel Like Dancing in second place. Top selling UK artist single download was Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars.
Paul Smith
Nominations have now closed and because there were so many I am dividing them into categories so you all get more than one vote smile.gif
