My last gig in this area is coming up in a couple of weeks. Chatting with the punter last night she has specifically requested two tracks - I believe both to be mixes, but I don't know for sure. If anyone can help that would be great.

First track is a Tony Christie mix. Him singing lots of songs, including Amarillo, to a disco/dancey beat. I expect this is a mix off either a dj disk or maybe the track he did with Hermes House Band..?

Second track is Chas and Dave Christmas mix. Lots of Chrimbo tunes to singalong to, but where is it..?

Thanks in advance guys n gals.

This is the only ref I can find to it (Chas'n'Dave):

The mix is around 30 mins long.......

Try Santa claus & the Christmas trees. Sounds like ( and could well be) Chas & Dave and it is very popular.

I have it on a DMC christmas album.

Hi Ben

I have a couple of Tony Christie Mixes, dunno which one your customer is refering too.
They all centre around amarillo though rather than featuring his other hits.
I got a Matermix version, would that be what your looking for?

Then dance mix was the cd single version and just has more of a beat to it. I've played it a few times, but the punters tend to prefer the original.

Chas and Dave CD's were being sold off in Poundland last week, including xmas megamixes.

Isn't this forum amazing. I ask for a Chas and Dave single and Kingy tells me it's someone else. Turns out I already own the bloody track! How freaky is that?

Excellent work, young Mr King!

As for the Tony Christie track...I have no idea other than what I wrote earlier. NRG could have found the one - which Mastermix cd is it on Norfolk?

Thanks again boys.

Theres also a remix by "the commitee" on DMC DJ only 70 (i think)

It's the second or third track on the cd single. I paid £3.99 for it!

Sorry Nick, missed your post earlier. Which Mastermix CD are you referring to?

Of course, you KNOW what'll happen now, don't you...

You'll get to the gig and...

"Oh, we've decided not to do the Chaz'n'Dave thing, and not the Tony Christie thing either."

or

"Oh you needn't 'ave gone to any trouble, they were just ideas".
