Hi there..

Can anyone help?

Went to plug the amp in tonight and it does amplify, but there is no fan fanning the inside..

So thought it best to unplug it and use the spare...

Anyone know how i can fix it to get the fan back? Is it a simple fix or should I take it in?

More than likely the Fan itself has failed, these are usually available from most of the Electronics "hobbyist" suppliers for around £6 - £12 depending on the fan size. It's quite a straightforward and simple repair if you can find your way around basic electronics!. If not, then you are better off taking it in.

Just open the case to see if there is anything obvious - loose wires etc.

You did right not to use it, although it may have been okay at low power levels it's not wise to run any amp without cooling. At best, you could expect the thermal protection system to activate, at worst you risk transistor breakdown, very rare nowadays but it does happen, so not really worth the risk!.
