hello there i got a problem with my setup , i got a system of soundlab amp and soundlab speakers and bass bins all connected up right and working ok the problem i got is the lack of thump coming from the bins, what i need to know is how to remedy it, do i need a mixer with eq on or something i dont know but when i got it going on a 2 channel mixer with no eq on u can hardly hear or "feel" the bins whats goin on thanks

Okay this could be a number of things. First of all, is the sound coming loud and clear from the Full Range Speakers?.

Secondly, the CD Player is running "flat" - i.e with no added bass or treble frequencies, so I would advise adding at least a cheap 2 channel mixer with EQ as soon as possible, this will allow you to add a lot more bass than the level recorded to CD!. CD recordings can sound tinny at the best of times..

Finally, how powerful is the Amp that you have?. To drive Bass Bins correctly does require a little bit of power!, especially when the amp is feeding both full range and bass speakers?. I'm assuming the Amp is the Sp800 that you mentioned previously?.

Perhaps you can borrow a mixer, just to check that there isn't a problem with the wiring / speakers?. Is there anything coming from the (Bass) speaker at all?. Of course you will need to invest in a mixer at some point, especially if you intend to use it for mobile use, but if it is an EQ problem (Which it could easily be) then at least you know where the problem lies.
