A few weeks ago I did a post on classic disco tracks and I nominated Brothers Johnson--Stomp being a classic. James Murphy had a great idea of compiling a list of classic disco tracks.

So here we go. We are going to make The DJU classic Disco Floor fillers album. Am going to nominate Mr Ian Young to come up with the Front and Back covers. (No pressure Ian).

Ok so if we all add just one track most of us will feature on the album. So far we have..

So if your name isn`t on the play list so far lets be having a suggestion. We`ll go for 12 tracks n each disc and it will be a double disc affair. I`ll complete it when its finished then I`ll go and see if we can get it pressed. With Ian`s front & Back covers it will look fabulous.

I'm the first to admit at being no expert when it comes to strict music genre separation, and I'm certainly not criticising anyone else's suggestions (each to their own!) but I am noticing a lot of suggestions that I wouldn't readily categorise as 'Classic Disco tracks' ...

(Anyone got a good definition of Disco?)

I guess it depends whether we're talking of Disco as in the genre, or Disco as in "things we'd play at a disco"... i think thats where the confusion has been.

Must admit, about 90% of the tracks in there are NOT ones I would play, however am not criticising the guys/gals that do play them.

I suppose at the end of the day there are many songs on this album that you wouldn`t normally find on any other album so am sure it will be a big seller.

All concerned will reap the profits.

And now for one of my personal favourites:

One of the most uplifting tracls I can think of.

what about THE DJU ALBUM volume 1

Call me a pain in the rear 007......but can't we have 15 - 20 tracks per disc (in line with other releases today) or even a Disc 3?

its cheeper init!!

Ignore the colours and the fonts etc.

Whatever we do, can we please hurry up. According to Gary's banners, there's only sixty odd days to capture the Christmas market.

It'll take 007 6 years to raise the cash to have a CD pressed and printed, so don't worry about it.
