Just a quick question, I've recently bought four par56 cans, they each have 1000w lamps. On my sound to light unit it states 1000w max resistive and 750w inductive does this mean it run the lights ok?? 533.gif

Resistive means a standard load such as a bulb, filiment or Element

Inductive is an appliance which contains a magnetic coil or winding, such as a transformer, fan, ballast or motor.

A par 56 or 64 just contains a mains rated bulb so its a resistive load. A Par36 Pinspot, or any effect using a low voltage bulb (12v, 15v, 24v, etc) is always inductive since it will contain a transformer.

So in answer to your question, yes your controller will switch 1000W but it will be running at full capacity so make sure that you only switch the one lamp per channel and nothing else!.

Also, if your controller is of the multi-program variety then make sure that there is never more than 2 or 3 channels "on" together at any one time!. Having 4x 1000W lamps all on at the same time is likely to overload the controller and the 13Amp socket its plugged into. excl.gif
