Hi Chaps,

Just read this whilst perusing the web:

"PLASA 2003 sees the UK launch of the SL-DZ1200 digital CD turntable, featuring full scratch facility via direct drive platter, cue save, on-board sampling and looping, SD cue point save, auto cue load, vinyl simulation and more. Also on show is the SH-MZ1200 4-channel mixer with digital in/outs, plus the full SL1200 turntable range."

Looks very slick, finished in silver, so obviously based on a 1200.
There's also a very tasty looking four channel mixer. did try to cut'n'paste a pic, not to sure how to insert into a post though rolleyes.gif

One more gadget to look out for sunday...

Those are soo gorgeous looking - imagine the wow factor at gigs standing behing a coffin of that little lot. Now thats my kinda coffin - a pair of those, some silver 1200's and an equally gorgeous mixer - hell - im gonna put that in my will - i wanna be buried in one!
mobile_dj_crooks
haha nice biggrin.gif

which means two technics 1200s and 2 of those for my setup 014.gif which means another 1000 needed for my budget 014.gif

I've just had a play with em at PLASA, their not bad at all, but I'd rather go for the Denon's wub.gif
Dj_Kray

Did anyone get a price out of the Technics reps for ONE of their new decks, when they come out? Ive been given a "suggested"(by technics) of "about £1000 EACH".

I wi1 ll try to get a better/closer quote, over the remaining 3 days of Plasa.
Dj_Kray
gary did ya watch the full demo i love denon but i was so impressed i even got up on the stage before the presetation and had a mix and wow it was good
Dj_Kray
Well here is my initial denon dn-s5000 Vs the new technics cd player comparison.

Technics

• Manual cue point - you can set the start of the sample to a user specifiable point on the platter
• Vinyl simulation effects
• Pitch Lock
• Instant reverse/forward
• Brake speed control
• Real time recording - skratch up a storm and use it as a sample
• Skratch from SD media
* 8% 16% 24% 50% pitch ranges
* 8 very good effects including flange and 2 cross fader effects very similar to the denons 3 way scratch system plus a effect which for those in to scratching helps you preform the crab scratch effect with out using the cross fader
* full not sure if its 10" or 12" direct drive platter (it uses the same motor as the technics 1200s)
* Fader start via mixer
* Full mp3 support including playing mp3s from the sd card
* Instant Start (0.2 sec)
* CD-R/RW Disc Playback
* User upgradble via cd updates

This is the only info i have at the moment

The big problem the technics cd player will have wil be its price it seems you wont get 1 for under a grand yet the denon which does more if you shop around you can now get for sub 700 pounds yet i do belive for people converting from using vinyl will prefer the technics as it feels very very similar to vinyl.

PLease feel free to add anything i have forgot or got wrong.
Chrispy
Here ya go! smile.gif
