Ok, this is where the members who use nothing but MP3 files on laptops, smile smuggly and tell us that they can find any track in 2 seconds flat...but as for the rest of you...

How do you file/store your CD's and records... I dont mean what sorts of boxes, or CaseLogic ring binders etc, just how you group them for easy finding.

I have a photographic memory, it needs developing !!!

No really, sometimes when I get asked for a particular track, I get an image of (Say) the tune/artist title written in black, on a yellow and blue background (or whatever) and then simply look through the compilation albums for a blue/yellow cover and hey presto! theres the track. I couldnt tell you what the name of the album was...or anything like that.

Other than that, I have 4 boxes of 12'' singles (mainly 80's), 5 boxes of Albums (60's, NOW, TV/Film/Sound effects/misc, Individual artists, and compilation albums), then 2 boxes of 600 7''singles...and then there's the CDs.

How about everyone else? Do you have a system? or simply "know" the location of every track.

I used to just put my new CD's at the front of the box, then like Gary if somebody asks for a record I knew where it was roughly, like John said I have a photographic memory for everything.

BTW Great site George
