Just wondered what December is looking like for everyone at the moment.
I have 22 dates booked so far and it's looking good but no dates for Christmas Eve or Boxing Day as yet and I always like to work them.
Is everyone else busy, busy, busy?

2 days free for december 24th and 25th .... am now helping fill up my mates calander for December!
Its surprising, when you think of all the birthdays, weddings, etc.. you do through-out the year, if people were pleased, they tend to book you for christmas.... hey presto, december filled!
Anyone had someone move their party so that you can DJ for them? How about crazy offers to drop your current NYE job?
Can those who will cover Cardiff, drop me a PM, because its only september, and im still getting gigs coming in for christmas, perhaps i could pass some on here if needs be....

I'd go that way if needed but it is a bit of a drive so on that occasion I would add travel in with the quote.
Saying that, anyone else who is busy and gets a date for Xmas Eve or Boxing Day that they can't do and it's local (ish) then let me know.

I was shocked when it happened to me.....
the lady rang up, and asked if i was available, i said no, but i could recommend another DJ, she said, no, its ok, we will move our party, when am i available?
I was surprised that people actually do that!

OHHhhhh!!!!!
I've got a booking! I've got a booking!!!

Regarding someone altering a date to enable you to DJ for them, yes, it used to happen to me quite often in the 90s. Most of those functions were youth club discos, and general fund-raising events - that kind of thing.

They usually ask if I am free then move their parties to dates I am not...
December is good for me, I have 18 confirmed gigs & NYE. I have only got 1 dinner time function in as yet. I am doing both the PA & disco each night so it's a lot of work but a good earner. Stuff will be left from night to night too at the venues insurance!!

How do you guys do it?
I know I'm new to DJing (since April) but I haven't even had 1 enquiry about December yet!
What am I doing wrong?

Nothing much, it's called experience and residencies.

3 Christmas gigs at the tail end of November, 23 Christmas gigs in December, avoiding Christmas eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day - I don't work on those days. Then NYE of course - all at the same prices.
December this year is well-structured for gigs, eg: With the 23rd Dec being a Saturday etc.
Just received the Christmas Gobo's that I ordered for my lights, so I'd better get around to fitting them in the next 6 weeks or so.

Still not sure if I will be living in Crewe or Bournemouth after October so I can't take on any bookings
I play my last gig tomorrow and then my diary is completely empty! Give me some time to get my tax return done I suppose!
