Hi There People

I am getting loads of requests for this song of ours and have no problems in sending people the track, if any of you guys have MSN Messenger its much easier for me to send it through there.

Anyhow if you have MSN add me LKELLYNRG@HOTMAIL.COM

And ill send it though, failing that just email me your address and ill send you a copy.

The state of play with the track at the moment was it was sent to AATW Records on Friday as i know the owners really well and they asked to hear it, but i could do with some help in getting them to sign it, so if i can get a huge interest in this version of the track fingers crossed.

We've been performing it in the set for 12 months and its the biggest track in our set and people always want a copy of it.

If you have received a copy i always like to pitch it about 4.7 speeds the bpm of the track to 137bpm,

Its a great tune !!!

Paul Smith
I like it smile.gif my only concern is that 14 secs into the track it seems to go a bit flat for the next 14 secs before the beat kicks back in giving people who are not familiar with it ample time to walk off the dance floor. Apart from that....

goodjob.gif

I'll play it this weekend and let you know the re-action.

Your next mission should you chose to accept it is to revamp a couple of Christmas tunes before the end of November rolleyes.gif

Paul Smith
Don't know OM 533.gif is it part of your PC where you can alter the setting or has the attachment been removed by your service provider?

I simply saved it to file and then played it in itunes - hopefully someone who knows about these things can help.
tonyj

Cheers Ed, I didn`t get it though. Perhaps my ISP don`t like it.

Hi Steve

I emailed it through my hotmail account, as my NTL account wont allow anything over 3mb, (i know NTL is POO)

I am having my sky broadband connected this week, might be the hotmail account that your pc didnt like, i know when i usually get people emailing me from a hotmail account it immediatley spams them.

EdBray
Steve,

Just had confirmation, it's been bounced back to me as undeliverable.

Have you another email address we can try?

Eddie

Just seen the post above, and I sent it from Blueyonder broadband.

I see what you're saying but I do think that 14 secs is a long time to wait on a dance floor when there's not a lot going on to dance to. If the song becomes popular & familiar then people will know it's gonna come back in soon and will patiently wait. I'm only surmising but I think that at the moment after about 10 secs some may think this is the way it's gonna continue and walk off.

Don't take this as a complaint - it's just a mild concern / observation. Maybe in the clubs people will hang on but I feel a Paul Smith 5 Star re-mix will suit my clients better until they know the song smile.gif

But if you do that Paul, they will never get to "know the song" 014.gif as the song they will become accustomed to will be the "Paul Smith 5 Star Remix" biggrin.gif

Eddie.
NRG
Enlighten me lol, whats a paul smith 5 star remix, im guessing you start the track from the 1st chorus or something,

Sorry to point out the obvious but why not just cue the track and start it from where its recognisable?? I do this with loads of songs...

Because I like the start of this song and if there's an easy or hard way to do something I like the challenge (of doing it the easy way wacko.gif )
Danno13
Thanks Ed.. i now have a copy..

Yeah i see what you mean now.. i thought you were talking about just a beat.

Still, its a nice track.. but mabye introducing the track during the intro might make people stay up on the floor... this is usually what i'll do if i'm playing an upfrontish track that i'm not sure people will recognise.
NRG
I promise you guys we have done it live for 12 months and ive handed it to dj's and no ones stood still at the 14 second bit, like i said pitch it up thats how we do it live, plus when ive seen dj's drop it into their nightclub sets, most of the punters know part of the track and end up singing a long lol.

Ive got a meeting about the track in 2 weeks, but i know there is a poor version of this, by someone who will remain nameless but they stole the idea of me, my own fault but i have the other version and its not a patch.

Thanks for the positives though guys

Regards
Dukesy
Have you thought about adjusting the tempo on the mp3 and making that version also available?

You could time-stretch the track in Soundforge to the exact Tempo you earlier refered to whilst retaining the pitch.

I'm sure there are DJs who have the facility to pitch their CD decks or mp3 playing software, but I can only guess that there may be many DJs who do not have this facility but would like to somehow try what you are saying (pitch) smile.gif

brianmole
NRG, I think it's really workable on the mobile dancefloor - well done! However, I cannot play this out because it's a 128Kbps MP3, and the quality is terrible.

Personally, I would also welcome a version with a percussive intro and outro (club mix or 12" mix so I can mix it into my sets).

Yep - I mentioned similar to this in a reply email - is there a higher quality mp3 at all available?
I would like to give the track as much full audio justice as possible and would be happy to download/purchase.

Paul Smith
I've played this for the last 2 nights - on Thurs I put it on whilst the staff were changing around the room and half-way through it I asked them what they thought. None of them were familiar with the song (quite young) but all said it had a great beat.

Later in the evening I played it again, it was an oldish crowd but I could see them singing along. The dancefloor did thin out a bit as well.

Friday night a younger & livlier crowd, I noticed about a dozen or so walk off just after that 14 second point but the rest stayed on, again some knew the words and were singing along, some thought they knew the words and were trying to sing along, some looked confused as to why others knew the words and they didn't wacko.gif and some just danced.

Going back to the quality issue, NRG, can you encode a copy for Mr Mole, me and doubtless a few others who notice these things, at a 320 bitrate?

I've a few gigs coming up for the 'younger generation' and I'd like to see what happens, and if it's good, I'll promote it.

You'll find my e-mail address in my profile, but I can only accept up to 10Mb. If it comes out at more than this maybe encode a bit lower - perhaps 256, but as stated, 128 is little better than telephone quality really and would be very noticable on any half-decent system. smile.gif
RobbieD
Another request here for a higher bit rate.

The current mp3 is "acceptable" but I would also prefer higher quality.

Maybe you could up load the wav file to "You Send It" and PM the link to those that want it. That way you only need to up load once (rather than for each email) and inbox limitations wouldn't be an issue for any of us.

I also echo Brian's requests for a 12" extended edit. Maybe I could offer some advice as I have also been a remixer/producer. (However I don't have the equipment - used to buy studio time by the hour.)

However the track is great and very usable for the mobile DJ.

I don't understand the problem a few of you are having....

The Copy i was sent, i burnt onto CD and put it on my laptop... used both this weekend, and i had no problems with the quality of the sound.

Ok, i accept the fact that it is recorded as MP3 format at bit rate of 128kbps, which does trim the in-audiable bits, and can take out some of the "borderline" frequencies. But its not that noticable IMO, and i don't think my two audiences noticed it, this weekend.
