We had the thread where we were discussing songs for ending the night, so I'm curious as to songs you've been asked for as a first dance at a wedding, as I've just received my list for a wedding in a couple of weeks with Oasis - Wonderwall as the first song.

Obviously thought the title was apppropriate, pity they hadn't listened to the words, or maybe they knew something you didn't.

Are they still married 071.gif

The bride and groom at a recent wedding requested a fantastic first dance - 3 Colours Red with Beautiful Day. Lovely song although I have no idea what the hell the lyrics are going on about...are they happy together? is one of them dead? are they split up? no idea!

When I got married just over 2 years ago my first dance was 'Time of your life' by Green Day followed by 'Lucky Man' by The Verve.

I've had a number of requests for 'Beautiful' by James Blunt over the past year and I did a wedding for my mate ages ago when the first dance was (** Wee Wee taking by Gary**) 'You walk in my Soul' by Gary Numan (they even had the title engraved on their wedding rings).

I love it when someone does something different and I must admit that the best so far and most definitely the funniest was when my mates parents wanted to celebrate their anniversary (50th I think)......

Wait for it.....

The first dance was the theme tune from 'Terry and June' because their names were Terry and June!!!! It was a great start to the evening and I was asked to play it right at the end too as they staggered off to bed......Quite a messy one that night!!

Chris Rea - Road to Hell

OK, so the couple were having a laugh and asked me to have it cued to the point where it played "Oh no, this is the road to hell"

After this brief "mistake" I went on to play the real first dance.
Was quite an amusing little moment though and got a laugh from the crowd smile.gif

Weirdest were either:

I Could Be So Good For Your by Dennis Waterman
Lady by Modjo or the most obscure so far is:
Beautiful [7" Canny Mix] by Mandalay (from Cafe Del Mar vol 6)

Bless em
