See my post under the blade.

Source were a budget brand. They seem popular (mainly due to cost!!) and appear cosmetically modelled on certain Abstract stuff. (Maybe made in same factory????)

The former directors of Source now run Zoom Manufacturing. (I dont think they manufacture anything..)

I believe they used to run a Sale Or Return plan for approved dealers, when they went under, the dealers were offered the option to buy the stock at favourable discount courtesy of the liquidators. (So im told). So bargains to be had! Just check the warranty terms, it will be with the Dealer not the defunct manufacturer.

Righty oh, my two penneth.

I have a Source Murchielago "the bat" light, in mint condition, boxed, never gigged, used once to try it out, first to collect can have it for £30. tongue.gif
If someone does want to collect it, they can also have a Stairville Double Derby Light for an additional £25. yucky.gif

The light is not as bright as either my Stairville Earthquakes (that I really like) or my Chameleon 4s (that I also like). They also have a 20 minute on off duty cycle, which is a pain in the 363.gif and why I have not bothered to use it, as does the Stairville Double Derby which is why that can go too.

If you had posted should I buy either of these lights, I would have informed you of the duty cycles, if you can live with that then they are both quite good lights.

No, the 20 minute duty cycle means you can have it running for 20 minutes then YOU must turn it off for 20 minutes to allow it to cool down before you can turn it on again. Failure to do this will result in the lights demise.

Seriously!!!!! So the cooling fan is just to make it look pretty! How stupid is that... wallbash.gif

How stupid am i for buying one wallbash.gif wallbash.gif

You're not stupid at all, you'll probably have good service from it. The quality of the Source lights wasn't actually all that bad although a fun pub I know had two and they were on every night, they failed just out of warranty. You average mobile DJ should be quite happy! The lampholders had burnt out BTW leading to short lamp life.

It's horses for courses after all. The pub in question should have been advised better on their purchase since pubs and clubs tend to thrash their stuff.
