I am just using cd and cd/vinyl at the club I work at the moment but hoping to use computer based mp3 very soon on the mobile disco side. Have mixmeister installd on pc at club, sometimes use this on warm up so I can stand at bar and have a couple of Guiness's. pepsi.gif

For mobile work it's all CD, although I am considering some sort of PC system at the moment, I am very tempted by the set up that Eskie uses, I will not be able to use this in clubs etc,

and I like the idea of a lap top to store songs that I don't play very often, this could be used in for both mobile & club work, but the mixing capabilities are not the same for mp3 to mp3

Ian, you'd be surprised mate. I bring my system into Cagney's (which is a club) each week. I just remove the turntables, and place them in a cupboard below and set up my pc and remote control unit where the decks were and input to the clubs mixer. Takes me about 10 minutes to set it all up.

Again, you'd be surprised. It totally depends on what software you use, and what type of remote control units they have for it. The one I use is the same as a CD remote unit, and gives you full control over the tracks and allows you to be creative with your mixes. If you see it in action one night, you'll be extremely surprised smile.gif

Eskie,

what i meant with the system you use, i can see there are no problems, but a laptop with one sound output you would have problems.

also Bar Plazma has no space at all, I am surrounded by pc monitoprs as it is

one to control the 15 odd plazma & TV screens, one for their own MP3 system, and one is a monitor for me

there is no space

Ian i know i keep harping on about it but final scratch alows you to use the clubs cd players and decks to controll your mp3s just like normal it is really great its like having 6000 12" records with me..
Rick
Right what you need for a laptop is a creative audigy USB which is basically a USB soundblaster with all the trimmings inc SPDIF outputs and ins and has a few outputs and inputs on it!! Not to expensive either so this would be the solouton for the problems you are thinking rolleyes.gif
