What is the funniest first dance you have been requested by the bridge and groom? I am sure some of them havent actually listened to the lyrics before choosing... Ive had some strange ones..... Phil Collins... Against all odds.... George Michael... Careless Whisper...... nice tunes... shame about the words!!

Would you believe me if I said that one couple wanted "The Hokey Cokey""!! as a first dance, however as I had the audience already in a circle ready for the first dance, it worked very well, however it did seem funny going from that back to a slowie........

A couple asked me for a slowie intro of about 30 seconds (I choose the rousing tune of "Love is a many a splendid thing (reprise) from the standard GREASE soundtrack CD), then wanted it to suddenly switch to "ma na ma na" by the muppets....
So the scene was that the "Love is a many a splendid thing" came on...the couple took hold of each others hands and slowly kissed, in a classic pose...and then they gave me "the signal" (An OK hand signal from the groom, which was hidden from the audience), and they swung apart at arms length (still holding hands) and did a quick boogie to "Ma na ma naa"...then they beckoned all their guests up for a proper slowie.
I then used "ma na ma naa" as a music bed for any other breaks in the show later, such as announcements during the background music for the buffet.
Aaaaahhhh sweet... (bucket time)....
