Anyone know any cheap deals on train tickets - Basingstoke to Waterloo (with a travelcard built-in for tube travel)?

EG: Is it better to buy a couple of days in advance on a website somewhere?

Is the travelcard worth it for tube travel between Waterloo and Earls court. Hmmm... me thinks that some local knowledge is required. PPPAAAAULLLLAAA!!!!???? biggrin.gif
YourBigEvent
Have a look at the local map here

I have found a hotel in Pilbeach Gardens WITH parking for £48 the night. Don't think I can get any closer than that.

Have I sported a big I out of the top of me head or something?
Ads accomodation sounds pretty allright especially with parking, I've just mailed Dan some info but fogot where he's gonna park! so hopefully he'll read this!

Gary I dunno about your rail fares but presuming your coming fom waterloo to Earls cout then one day travelcards are not usually acceptable before 9:30am so perhaps you should buy a weekly travelcard for the undergound.

Hi all

Just to let you know, That there is a huge carpark at the back of earls court just off the main road as you go over the railway bridge 1st left, cant think of the name of the road oops.gif , but all there big trucks and vans are there and you can park your car there, the parking is quiet expsensive though, its not bad if you want to only spend a few hours there rolleyes.gif GOOD LUCK fear.gif
YourBigEvent
That car park cost me £16 last year !!
paula
The carpark is on Seagrave Road!
But it's free parking on a Sunday
YourBigEvent
Not last year is wasn't free
paula
I meant in the local roads! not the carpark! sterb188.gif

Hey guys - I dont know if this has already been posted by anyone, or if it means anything to those getting there, but this just got posted on my companies intranet:
____________________________________________________________________

London: Emergency services exercise

The emergency services will be carrying out a training exercise on Sunday 7 September.
Traffic and pedestrian restrictions will be implemented around the Bank Junction from 8am - 6pm.

During this period, all vehicles - except those authorised by the police - will be prohibited from entering the area bounded by the following streets:

Cannon Street
Gracechurch Street
Bishopsgate
Wormwood Street
London Wall
St. Martins-Le-Grand

New Change
All pedestrians - except those authorised by the police - will be prohibited from the immediate vicinity of the Bank Underground station, which will be closed during the exercise.

Detailed advice on gaining access to the controlled area during the period of restriction can be obtained from the City of London police contingency planning office on 0207 601 2166 or by e-mailing event-enquiries@city-of-london.pnn.police.uk.

People requiring access to premises within the restricted area will need to provide evidence of identity or a letter accreditation for the premises concerned.

Didnt know if it applies to anyone but thought it best you were aware - sorry if it has already been posted...

I read somewhere that Waterloo station was being closed as well at such a time due to this!
I think its off to tavel enquiries you lot! 533.gif
Chrispy
Yes, this would be the Bodies covered in tomato ketchup excercise that I mentioned on the other thread. But it's more applicable here anyway thumbup.gif .

Oh joy, not that i'm using the tube / railway, but this means more people using cars = less parking areas = more panic to find a space. Paula!..Dustbins??.

Dare I close off the whole street wacko.gif

See one does have some uses out of the things one rolls home drunk with in the early hours of the morning.....Now does anyone need any heniken paasol's, emergency traffic lights...a pub table/bench 071.gif
YourBigEvent
Now who thought I was daft driving up through the night ?
Chrispy
See, all mysteries can be explained!.

Legend told of a mysterious triangle where ships & Aircraft vanished without trace. Legend however was wrong, since they mistakenly called this area "The Bermuda Triangle" when really they meant Paula's Back Garden.

The Seagrave car park is £20 this year 014.gif
