FLIGHTCASES FROM £5.00

No i've not been sat out in the sun for too long, but then again it got your attention didn't it tongue.gif .

Are you fed up with paying silly prices for flightcasing?, £100+ for the Stucco Variety and £40+ for Adda Poly Cases??? Well help (and an idea is at hand).

If, like me, your lighting / hire equipment is in tatty boxes and orange crates and slowly falling apart, but you don't want to be silly prices to flightcase your lighting, then I could have the solution!.

I've just been to a local military surplus auction. Amongst the collection of goodies was a large number of various sized Ammunition Boxes. These are full metal - heavy duty cases with catches and hinges...and best of all! - cheap!. Luvvly Jubbly smile.gif .

Upon dragging them out of the Van, I've found that i've got a size for *almost* everything lighting. From Twister 4's - Large Predator Scanners and UV Canon - they are almost made for the Job!.

With the addition of some foam rubber lining and maybe some black hammerite (If you don't like olive green!) these will make excellent flightcases - and being metal will last for years!.

The best thing about it is the price!. I paid an average of £5 per box. The largest box (around 2ft square) which will easily house 2x 575 Watt HMI scanners cost me £7.00 - bought from ADDA it would cost £84.00.

So my advice - get yourself down to your local surplus auction or Army Surplus Store and pick up a bargain. Talking to the guy who sold me them, when I went to settle up with him - there are 1000's of these boxes around.

So thats another few ££££'s I've saved you!. Mines a J.D & Coke at the Plasa please 221.gif

Nice idea Chris I could produce them at the end of the night when I wanted everyone to go home (hotels can be evacuated here in about 60 secs) laugh.gif
