What is the power of the amp that you use when you do a mobile job?

I am currently using a 600w amp and deciding whether or not to upgrade to a 1000w amp or just stick with the power my current one is giving.
Dj SBD
I use a 700W amp, with 4x 250W speaker's.

I don't know why, but I just had Da ja vou wacko.gif
Dynamite Discos
i use 1100 watts which is absolutly fine for most stuff - could use more bass power for marquees tho and gigs of more than 175ish peeps (speakers powerful enough - but lack of big beefy bass amp).

Personally i would upgrade to the kilowat if u can then u know that the system is ganna be capable of most things you're going to ask it to do
Tonsk
I use a 1k amp and take a backup 1.3k amp with me to all gigs...

The 1k (as long as you know you wont blow your speakers) just means you keep the 600 as a backup... Or continue using it and keep the 1000 as a backup...

I have never had anywhere I couldnt fill... Especially if you then plug em both in..... (and have the speakers to handle it of course!) unsure.gif
Chrispy
1KW for 90% of gigs like weddings etc, 3KW for Larger Functions and upto 10 kw for the hire events like opendays, carnivals etc

1 - 2 kw is usually plenty, without pushing either your Amp(s) / Speakers for most venues with upto 300 - 400 Guests
YourBigEvent
1KW for most gig, 600w for smaller ones and upto 25KW for much bigger venues/outside.
PartyBoy
I use a 1.6Kw amp with 4 x 250w JBL's. Only have the amp levels turned up to half. thumbup.gif
