if it is a school theme (and presuming the clients wants games) then I would do traditional school stuff.... sack race.. egg and spoon etc etc! Very few props needed - also hoola hoops always go down well!

As it's a free bar a few drinking games won't cost you much such as eat a cream cracker (or two) and down a pint (or three) Or 2+ teams, put half of each team at the opposite end of the field. First has to finish drink then run to other end of field to tag next in team who then drinks theirs and runs back for the next member etc (have a sick bucket ready)

For alternative drinking games...Bibs and Baby's Bottles filled with lager often add a bit of a novelty to the proceedings!

Hi
Here's a game I've used often and has always been good for a laugh.
Get 4 willing, or even not so willing volunteers.
fill 4 pint glasses with ice cubes and water and the 4 have to eat the ice cubes without drinking the water. Person left with most water after all ice is gone is the winner.
You could make it more interesting by making them drink eat from the oposite side of the glass, is meant to be a cure for hickups.

Again get volunteers and get them to eat as many rich tea biscuits as they can in 1 minute and then make them whistle the national anthem before they have finished eating! Stand well back! If things are a little lively you can get 2 volunteers to stand about 5 yards from a pint of beer, give them a broom handle each and make them run around the handle(while holding it) ten times and then drop it and run to the beer and drink it. Again stand well back and this is best suited to outdoor gigs but not ones on the top of cliffs or by rivers!

When was the gig?
Free bar?
Need an extra roadie or 10 to help with your gear!
