Yeah, it's a good track, but for me, the one to watch is Bob Sinclair's World Hold On.

I await the howls of derision when it now sinks like a stone, never to be heard again...lol

The 'chart success' tip so far...... fear.gif

Made it to number 7 in the official UK singles charts and number 10 in the official download charts.

But the song (chorus riff) reminds me of something else......possibly a 'rock' number or something???

Any ideas anyone?

its average.... nothing special but i have it for when they ask for it this weekend :)

It's OK, but not got that special hook like Sex bomb for instance. Good luck to the fella, still banging out choons even though he's an OAP! laugh.gif

Video is good

I thought the video was thumbdown.gif 071.gif

Still can't work out which tune it reminds me of. wallbash.gif

Yeah the video is really bizarre. had to watch it about 10 times before I figured out that he was wearing a Tom Jones mask and not a Ronald Reagan one! . wacko.gif

Don't think i'd be flattered if I was him! whistling.gif

I think they do listen to more than just TOM JONES in WALES you know! biggrin.gif hide.gif biggrin.gif

Yeah good track , did anybody see him doing it live on Jonathan Ross' friday night show a few weeks ago, fair play it was a struggle to reach the higher notes.

All the best for Cardiff this w/e marky marc. Would like to come down the road to see / hear you but rather busy I'm affraid.

This is what I said on April 9th - Radio 1 have now started playing it and it's released on 3rd July

Keep an eye on it, I'm sure it's gonna be big!

Bob Sinclair track is ok but there are some better dance tracks during the rounds at the moment for example:

Shapeshifters feat. Chic - Sensitivity
Stargazer - Feel Good
Route 33 - Looking Back
Dirty Old Ann - Turn Me Out
Michael Gray - Borderline
Solu Music - Fade (Tune of the year so far i thinks)

They are the commercial tunes anyways, a whole bunch of other stuff about to but wouldn't really work in the mobile disco scene.

Right on point, Gavt!

It looks like this could finally hit the charts with its "Strings Of Life" remix, and obligatory "girls in bikini's" video, after being a continuous hit in the clubs for the past two years.

Now we just need Hed Kandi or a similar label to do the same with the other big "everyone knows it but has never been in the charts" dance track from the past two years; Tweet's "Boogie 2nite".

Spot on Robbie, altogether now..

Well, as Tweet's record label couldn't get it together, it looks like a cover by "BootyLuv" will get all the glory. sadwalk.gif

And yesterday Booty Luv hit number 3 in the UK Charts.

I think Hed Kandi must have been reading this thread back in May.

But I feel sorry for Tweet - this is a higher chart position than any of her own singles. And the Booty Luv version is such a rip off of the original house mixes of the Tweet version - even down to using the same remixers.

(In case you didn't know, the "Booty Luv" are vocalists Nadia & Cherise from Big Brovaz.)

Funny that, I've been playing a white label dance version of Boogie Tonight - Tweet by god knows who (thought it had something to do with Hoxton Whores, but may be wrong) for a couple of years to great effect, and I only recently got the Bootyluv version on CDpool radio nov06, and also got the 12"mix recently but I still think the original dance version I have is better.
RichardP
Did Seamus Haji do the remix on the dance remix of the Tweet version then?

I like the BootyLuv (well, to be fair, Seamus Haji) production a lot, so would be interested to audition the dance version of the Tweet record.

Not to be confused with the Tweets, of course laugh.gif hide.gif
brianmole
533.gif Seamus Haji has remixed everything has he not?
RichardP
Ahh right ... so is the difference just the vocals then? (sorry might be having another monday moment)

The Seamus Haji Boogie Mix is my favorate mix of the Tweet version. The Seamus Haji mix of Booty Luv's version is different - his mix for Tweet was more funky house, and in my opinion, much better. (The Tweet 12" was backed with the Seamus Haji 2Nite Dub.)

You may still be able to get hold of this version on the CD single of Turn Da Lights Off.

The DB Boulevard Club Mix of Booty Luv is identical to the Tweet version. They just replaced the vocal - except the Booty Luv version also looses the "Stephen Hawking" style vocoder voice in the break (I guess Stephen Hawking wasn't available for the Booty Luv version!) causing the break to sound a little empty. Personally I think that Tweet's vocals are a little sweeter and have more personality, unlike the Big Bovaz girls who are just trying to sound like Tweet.

Brian, the only other mixes of the Tweet version that I have are the Luca Cassani Club Mix and the Tommy Vee "Patu" Dub Mix (both on the B side of the original DB Boulevard Club Mix), but there was also a Bobby D'Ambrosio remix released separately, so either your 12" is one of those, or it's a bootleg mix.

Oh no, I'm starting to sound like a train spotter!!
