Professional Mobile Disco & Wedding Disco
Paul Smith
Earlier today I received an email from an msn address asking for a quote for a midweek gig in May. I sent a reply and selected 'request read receipt' (something I don't normally do 533.gif ) anyway the receipt was returned - sender: info@xxxxxxxxxxxxxdiscos.com

So I've just sent an email to the disco concerned asking him if he found the email informative biggrin.gif

Conclusion - if you're gonna be sneaky then be sneaky & don't reply from your business email address!!.

I get quite a few of these as well. it's really irritating. If anyone wants to know how much I or anyone else charges why don't they just ask.

If I realise it's a sneaky disco I always add £75 on to the price......... just for the hell of it.

I had one of these some time ago, turned out to be a DJ in Derbyshire wanting somebody to pass surplus work to, who was a similar price to himself 533.gif . Nothing sinister about that.

It's also a good way to gauge the level / speed of response and the professionalism of a business towards it's clients. I've seen Dj's websites which are littered with text-speak and slang, and I wouldn't pass work onto another Dj who sent business emails in the same manner rolleyes.gif . What better way to gauge the professionalism of a business, than to pose as a client?, rather than identify yourself as a competitor and either get the suspicious cold shoulder, or the kid gloves treatment? smile.gif

Okay the are the sneaky ones who make contact just to sound out the competition!, but we aren't a unique industry in that philosophy!. smile.gif

But, leave the business email address aside when you do this biggrin.gif
