A few members of this forum will know I promote my own events every now and then under the name Groovers Korner. The next one is next saturday Aug 9. If any of the regular members on here wanna come, lemme know and I'll put you on the guest list. Kazz is gonna come after her gig and I think Paula mentioned it?
It finishes at 3am.
In the Park Royal area, 2 minute walk from the infamous Hanger Lane Gyratory System, west London.

Just finalised a deal for a new club for my future events in Ladbroke Grove. The venue is called Cagney's and is just about perfect. It's laid out really well, and has a licence to 4am. pepsi.gif
The owner has also offered me residency on thursday nights playing Rare-Groove, Acid-Jazz & Soul.
All in all things have been getting better and better over the last week or so as apart from the above have also been offered a set on the next Caister Soul Weekender smile.gif

So far have met Mikeee, Ian & Paula from this forum; maybe meet a few more of you next saturday? and then the northern section at Plasa.

I dunno! 014.gif why i'm poor, could be the fact that I'd had a lot to drink went to Mc d's cab or maybe the fact that I lost it trying to get through a window at 2 in the morning!
Keys I havent a clue!
Sleeve, I got in a cab with 2 long lacy sleeves on never realised I'd shut one of them in the door, got out the other side of the cab and Riiiiippppp!

Glad you enjoyed it Paula. I went away for a few days on sunday so haven't seen any messages on here since saturday.
The night went well apart from no A/C or ventilation in the venue which was a nightmare. I'm so glad we've found a new venue for future events.

Thanks for that; ... it wasn't a weekender though, it was another of my Groovers Korner promotions, this time at Cagney's in Ladbroke Grove.
It went really well, and the dance-floor was absolutely heaving all night smile.gif we had a great atmosphere, and the great thing about doing a soul gig is that the crowd really show their appreciation (vocally- loud tongue.gif ) when you play good tunes, more-so than any other music genre, apart from maybe reggae.
From the DJ'ing point of view it could not have gone better; every single tune I dropped worked really well, and every single mix went perfectly, and am still buzzing now thumbup.gif
The club owner is insisting that I do them regularly at his club so all in all a great night.

kazzachi
.. and when it goes down like that, and you are still buzzing the day after, you realise why you do the job!
