Iv bought a 60mw green laser for some of the gigs,
the laser looks great
but im worried about the laser scanning the crowd,
does anybody here use lasers,
what precausions should i use,
i read the HSE guide lines but im still not sure,
any advice would be helpful

Cheers
Chrispy
I don't think there has ever been a documented case of eye damage through contact with an entertainment laser, however that doesn't mean that the risk doesn't exist and 60mw is quite a high power level.

The safest way of using these, is to invest in a fairly high stand, and to point the laser (and angle its beams) above head height. This isn't as stunning as pointing the laser at the dancefloor but it is a hell of a lot safer!.

totally agree with chris.
is it a DMX laser? if so you can control where the beams go.
ive got a 40mw green laser and angle it above the crouds head but on some of the patterns it still shines onto the dance floor as im not using DMX

Someone will get bottled and some how it will end up being either you lights or the lazer that caused it. i would always protect yourself by making sure that it does not hit people in the eyes or charge people with glasses as it might repair there eyesite tongue.gif
