I'm pretty sure its happened to us all at some point... we know that the next track we want is on Disc # 2 of a 2CD compilation CD.

We open the CD case as normal, just like a book, the hinge on the left, the opening bit on the right, revealing CD #1.

Now, heres the fun bit.... some of the time the plastic "page", holding CD # 1 is moved out of the way to reveal CD #2, in the same orientation as the CD case itself, however sometimes the plastic page holding CD#1 is hinged on the right hand side.

More often than not, you find out exactly which way you were supposed to get to CD#2 just after the plastic cracking sound... fear.gif

But...which dual CD case style do you prefer?... 533.gif

Even if you're not using the original CD cases night-by-night, you probably have a certain like/dis-like to one case type or the other.

i really hate the cases that the now compilations come in, that plastic bit you have to pull open to get to cd2 is guareenteed to break off, 188.gif just makes my blood boil when my cases break fear.gif

I hate these double CD cases too. they should open like a book and have CD 1 on the left and cd 2 on the right so its easy to see both at the same time...

most of my CD cases end up in the bin and the CDs end up I a Case logic wallet

Cheap Cd cases suck. They save a load of money on these things about 1p and it makes everyones life worse. I hate them hate them HATE Them.

I thought the case was always part of the packaging as they nearl always break when I open them mad.gif Always bin them.

Paper cases like the daily papers use for their freebies are far better.

I couldn't give a monkeys to be honest. I transfer my CDs to a Caselogic or Slappa wallet more or less straight away anyway!

Heres a thought...or unfortunately, an observation.

When the plastic page that CD #1 is on, opens to the left (like a book) CD #1 is then held upside down above the inside front cover of the CD-case. However, When the plastic page that CD #1 is on, opens to the right CD #1 is then held upside down above nothing but a 3ft drop to the ground.

Invariablely, the action of getting CD #2 out of the case, usually dislodges CD#1...

Hmmmmm interesting design philosophy.

I went for option 2, although as the cases are so cheap and nasty I put the Cds in separate slimline jewel cases, with an insert I've printed out with the track listings.

This applies to exclusively to the NOW compilations, and each repackaged CD is called, for example, '55 CD 2', or '61 CD 1' and printed accordingly in large bold black text on white. You get the picture.

I type the track listings into an Excel database along with the respective location and use the list for quick reference. Thank goodness they release the NOWs fairly infrequently.... smile.gif

By the way, when's NOW 63 due? Any ideas??

The next Now is due out in July. Apparently they are aimed at the school holiday time and Christmas

Dont care ,I put them in plastic sleeves straight away, think there are more important things to worry about.
Gary
Superb! The interim result show that 87% of members, prefer that The 2nd disc is accessed by the "page" holding the 1st disc opening away to the left (like a book).
