Many of us on this forum use many different programs which use the Windows O/S, such as BPm Studio, MixMeister, OtsDJ. PCDJ etc but has anyone tried any of the software available for the Linux O/S?
I'd be extremely interested to hear anyones first-hand experiences, as Linux is far more stable than Windows.

Just in case anyone is interested in using Linux. I was sent a few links by a friend who works for Linux User mag.

A good general resource is:

Linux sound apps
which will list most of the projects running, follow the DigitalDJ link for a start. The nearest in design to BPM Studio is something called Beatforce:

Beatforce

but don't stop at this one, look at the others. Don't be initially put of by plain or simple web sites. The guys developing this stuff want to spend their time, err, developing this stuff, not writing web pages. Sometimes this is also reflected in documentation ;-)

BPMDJ
might be of interest too. I have to admit that I know very little of this stuff, but from what I've read I want to try and play with some of it.

Can BPM Pro do what TerminatorX can do?

i use stanton final scratch, that come with linux and its very stable on that once its all set up which is a bit of a pain!

what progs can you get for linux? personally i dont think linux is any more stable than XP as long as you keep XP in good condition - my PC hardly ever crashes!

Apple macs on the other hand..... wub.gif

has anyone used macs for anything? they are beautiful, and easy to use, and stable, and sound good, and powerful....

Only problem is PCDJ (my preferred MP3 DJing prog) runs only on win2k+
