These are quite good actually, however I prefer the III's as they have barrels, but the I's are good providing you angle them away from each other and use them with moonflowers aswell

just my 2 cents worth

I started off with a pair of these, and yes they are quite nice effects.

The main reasons I got rid of mine was the brightness and I wanted lights that didn't hang down so far.

Funnily enough, when I sold them on ebay at the beginning of last year, I sold them for more than they could be bought new from Maplins. rolleyes.gif

Nice job! How much did you sell 'em for???

Is Maplin the only place you can buy the Geni range apart from direct from the suppliers?

The hanging low (pardon the phrase!!!) is a bit of a problem, and as a weak 15 year old it is kinda hard to t-bar them high enough so that people don't walk into them!!!

I AM going to the Gym twice a week though!!!

offtopic.gif !!!

when you say you got rid of them cos of the brightness - do you mean they were too bright or am i thinking not bright enough. I'm guessing the 2nd one???

cheers

At the time I think they were £79 a piece from Maplins and I think they went for about £170 for the pair on ebay.

There's loads of places on line where you can buy them.

It was that they were not bright enough, unless you could get the dancefloor really dark. At the time I was also using 300W par cans and light boxes, and when I put these on, the spinmasters dissappeared.

As for the hanging down bit, it wasn't the weight. It was that the bottom of the light ended up too low, especially when the ceiling height was low.

All my lights now are the Datamoon type of case, ie: 2 Soundlab Vista's, 1 Chauvet Salsa (I wish I could find another one of these second hand), and an Acme Fantasy.

The Fantasy is my latest aquisition and I can't praise it enough. If you haven't seen one, try and get a look at one. They're half the size of a datamoon, light in weight and give a fantastic coverage. I know we say the punters don't care about the lights, but every gig I've done with it, somebody has passed a comment on it.
