Does a DJ need a licence to do Karaoke, & play karaoke discs, or is this the responsibility of the venue, please.

I would guess it is the same as playing any other kind of music/entertainment:
If playing music to the public, the venue will need a licence. For private parties, one isn't needed. (Keep in mind that other licences are needed if you change the format, such as storing discs on a computer.)
Can a Karaoke expert can confirm this?

Now, suddenly, why doesn't that surprise me?. Another victim of legislation?
