Yesterday did an afternoon Christmas party for local community centre. (freebie)
Got told that one of the guests was in distress and could I help. (I am a certified First Aider). Got my roadie to drive and went outside. Young guy 31 VERY distressed. Sweaty and clammy skin, pains in his chest, loseing the feeling in his left arm. Lips blue and face an ashen grey.
I have seen this before. Classic symptoms of a heart attack. But the guy would not let me call an ambulance!!!! Said it had happened before and would pass. As we spoke he started to recover. Told me that he had a history of blood clots.
I dialed 999 imeadiately. Guy got upset with me saying he did not want to go to hospital. I told him that if it was a clot it could lodge at any moment and cause a stroke or death.
Ambulance came explained details and they took him straight in.
Found out late last night that it was a blood clot. Simple to cure by injections. But could prove fatal if left.

Excellent work!
Also bear in mind that a sick person is frequently NOT capable of making his own decisions. That's part of the sad reality.
A person in this condition may be so stressed out that the thought of fuss, attention, blue lights, sirens noises is just off-putting period.

I am training to be a Paramedic you did the right thing well done!
It could have been a number of things and he would have needed to go to hospital and put on an ECG so they could find out what is wrong and stop it happening again.

Sounds to me like this guy has refused to accept the severity of his condition. I reckon he has probably been prescribed medication for this - aspirin, warfarin or whatever, but isn't taking it as he should.
Either that, or he just hasn't sought medical advice yet. In any case, I'm sure you've done him an enormous favour by getting him admitted to hospital.
Well done for not accepting his wishes, you might just have saved his life. Any blood clot which results in the symptoms you describe can only be the result of one forming in the coronary arteries or the lungs somewhere, and are as such immediately life-threatening, there is no such thing as a benign thrombosis.
