Thanks to a signature reminder from RobbieD, I bought the new triple album from Tokyo Project. The tracklisting is awesome, but I was really disapointed at first to find out it was mixed.

However, the mixing is spot on for once, and it is a worthwhile addition to the car collection notworthy.gif

With the above in mind, I phoned Tokyo Project to find out what is in the pipeline, and give a little feedback. The great news is they will be releasing a series of unmixed full 12" version compilations starting in January 2006, with the odd mixed comp every so often. This is music to my ears, particularly as Tokyo Project is Mark Doyle's baby. Mark was the creative force behing Hed Kandi before he left and decided to start his own project, so I look forward to some real quality output from this new project.

Mixing should be spot on as its not done by a human just selected by one.

I agree, I was comparing the mixing with that of other compilations, where basslines and music clash, although beat matching is always pretty much perfect. On this compilation, the phrasing is also spot on.

No problem.

For those that don't have them all, I think all the Hed Kandi albums are on offer at HMV (or is it Virgin) at the moment.

Buy one, get a second one one half price or sometthing.
