Meningitis Winter Ball

Recommended Posts

On Saturday on the weekend, I done a Disco for a Winter Meningitis Ball. It was a great success and we had 250plus people in the hall. Dancefloor was packed from 8.30pm which is unusual. And from then the dancefloor was packed all night. I was trying out my new Disco Setup, of which i shall post the pictures below.

Also we had a proffesional singer, called Mark Joseph do a set on the stage which went down a treat. He was really good! Local paper was there also.

MARK JOSEPH WEBSITE

I think the whole event was a great success and think this had got to be one of the best Discos I have done in my career.

I was on a total buzz all night with dancefloor packed all night long.

The following day i was sat outside Tesco in my car waiting for my friend, and someone taped the glass and said that the disco i done was the dogs BO*****S! Which i think was good too!

I know his old man, small world

look like you have a good setup, just curious to know about your speaker setup as I noticed you use 2 pairs of cabs stacked on one on top ot the other, wouldnt it have been more ideal to say use a dual 12"/15" setup or have you added as you go, as the saying goes, curiousity killed the cat.

Cheers

Thanks DJ007, Its taken me ages to get it looking like this. Originally I used white extension leads and black tape. Now I have leads that run out of the lights and straight down to a switch panel. Takes 5 mins to plug it in.

Managed to meet his Dad, he seemed like a nice person!

I brought the speakers only last week. I have had the Peavey Pro-15's for about 2 years now. I have been really pleased with them. But wanted something else to add to them. Originally I bought some stands for the new speakers, but thought they didnt look as good, and stable.

Have a look at the post i have made : DJU POST - NEW SPEAKERS

Was just reading this post and noticed how you'd mounted your scanners.... never thought of putting them that way up http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif will have to try it out next time I get them out, I know it's an old thread but you might still reply, but are your scanners programmed using a controller or do you just run them from their inbuilt programming to the music? http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/huh.gif

Hi,

Actually I cheat, they are Geni XTC lights. I use these in conjunction with my DMX Abstract Extreme Twisters. But the twisters I plug into each other and they copy each other. I havent got time to be fiddling around with them lol.

I use a pair of the XTC lights to start the night off, they look good on their own, then during the process of the evening turn different lights on and off.

Having them in this position helps with these lights, but dont know if they would work the same with Scanners. WHen I have tried this before the scans kept postioning the light beams 80% of the time on the ceiling.

Well done Nathen,

Also good that the local paper was there as this will give you some excellent publicity. http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/goodjob.gif
