Phwur! Only 16 different No.1's in this year.

Still, hardly surprising when the top spot was dominated for 18 weeks of the year (6 weeks each) by The Brotherhood of Man (Save Your Kisses for me), Elton & Kiki (Don't Go Breakin' my heart) and Abba (Dancing Queen).

That didn't leave a lot of year left for many others, but even so Pussycat stayed at No.1 for 4 weeks with "Mississippi" (The request that takes a punter all night to ask for, after a few pintzz). Abba's "Fernando" also managed 4 weeks at the pole position.

3 weeks at No.1 proved to be a much easier feat. Proven in fact by Tina Charles' "I Love to Love", Chicagos' "If you leave me now", Showaddywaddy's" Under the moon of love", and Johnny Mathis "When a Child Was Born".

Abba appeared yet again in the top spot this year, for 2 weeks with "Mamma Mia" as did The Four Seasons "December'63 (oh what a night)", and indeed The Wurzels did to, with "Combine Harvester (Brand New Key)".

Mopping up the 1 week at No.1, we have Silk "Forever and ever", JJ Barrie: "No Charge", and Demis Roussos: "The Roussos Phenomenon EP/Forever and Ever"

But which of those was your favourite No.1 and most playable at todays discos'?
