AGRH! The Isle of Wight Festival was only 3 days....

Actually, that looks like a really good playlist - although good luck with:

QUOTE

Jungle Book - The Bare Necessities
although there was a dance remix of it released by "The Mastermixers" (yellow cover - large black text) back around the 90's - which was playable.

For trimming things off the list to fit as much as possible into the evening, I'd start pruning off where they've asked for several songs by the same artists eg: 6 Elvis tracks, 4 beatles tracks etc, as one or two from each will suffice normally, and means you've saved yourself 6~8 tracks. (about half an hour).

Find out what they've got against "American Pie" too (a fairly well hidden "Dont play" mention in the list). Whatever they dont like about that track might help you with other track selections - eg: They might have had a death in the family recently and fear that the lyrics of "singin' this'll be the day that I die" should be avoided. In which case, you've got a few other songs (not on their list) to avoid too. Alternatively, they might simply not like American Pie because of its length - in which case avoid other long songs eg: Candido's Jingo, Donna Summers; I feel love, The Crown etc,etc,etc...

Love the playlist. almost my ideal, so varied you can keep the floor full all night and play something for everyone.

Steve... Mad bad & dangerous to know

Better to study for one hour with the wise, than to drink wine with the foolish.

The Monkees:
Sleepy Jean

Reminded me of a request last night for Neil Diamond 'Money Talks' http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif

How many days does this reception run for?

The best thing about a list like this is that it's so long you can pick the wheat from the chaff.

Have a good one.

I just liase with the customers, if they want to influence the music played, they are welcome. All part of the service!

Well last count shows 160 guests, so should be good fun too.
