Hi REader,

Hi the name is Dj Jenko from North Yorkshire, co owner of Thirsk Sound and Light A localcompany that was established back in 1977, i joined the company in 2000 but ran my own disco business from the age of 16 back in 1987.

We supply mobile discos and karaoke for all those events within the disco industry plus we also specialise in Pa and lighting for bands artists, we have two local bands on our books called Riot and Lizzy both being classic rock tribute bands.

The music we cover is everything from the 50,s to present day chart hits aswell as all the club tunes rock anthems etc, we just don,t specialise in just one or two styles of music but a broad range.

Our equipment we use are from well known brands from Peavey Soundcraft, shure, Crest audio,Robe Lighting, Numark, Pulsar, Soundlab lighting plus many other well forced equipment that is all P.A.T tested.

Onto the subject: I am wanting to purchase the SoundLAB Hi scan Dmx scanners but unable to find any reviews on this product, is that due to any reason i wonder, can find everything about them but would like to see them working say on a vid and read any reviews.

We are looking to purchase something like the scanners as we need a more mobile based ubits rather than use the Club scans by robe for mobile as they retail at over £600 per unit.

Does any of the readers out there own the Soundlab dmx Hi Scan 1 scanners that they can show me a vid or put on youtube etc.Plus any reviews on this product.

Many thanks

All the best to all fellow djs and entertainers.

Practice and Enjoy

Dj Jenko :karen:

hrmm seems to be very little about these units on the web, either they are very new or discontinued. Very few places seem to be stocking them, but the ones that do seem to have 10+ in stock which seems alot

Personally im baffled why you wouldnt want to use your Robe scans mobile, they are designed for this, perhaps just some decent flightcases would protect them better?

if you definately want to go for cheap scanners, then id recommend the Acme Dynarock 250w versions, they are lightweight, bright and reliable and around the same price as the Soundlabs. They also do the Spin versions which you can link up without any compatibility issues. Most importantly, Prolight make proper cases for a good price.

Looking at the product, it looks as if it uses the same chassis as Geni Spinmaster / Scanmaster series did (Which were discontinued a couple of years ago from memory).

Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same as the scanmaster, but just rebadged with same gobo stepper motor and everything.. (Perhaps different gobos though)....
