I find it really hard to get a decent photo of my rig. Here are some I took this evening (Sat 14th Oct).

Am still not happy with them though.

Looks great Steve, do the bins get in the way when dj'ing.

The venue could do with hiring my chair covers from me though... http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/tongue.gif

Brian mentioned it Chris, its the photo. It must be the camera am using. Am trying to get a good looking photo to print off . Am looking to make a album for when I start doing wedding fairs. I also want a couple of decent shots for my web site.

No, Frankie they fit nicely under my stand.  Sometimes this hotel does have seat covers. The clients must of been on a budget (thats why they booked me, LOL)

Not yet. Either myself or my roadie gets to them efore this happens. I have my data moons pointing up and my scanners on the bar pointing down, this way the lighting doesn`t get in peoples eyes.

At the risk of sounding predictable http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif - has anybody thought of engaging the services of a professional photographer for their publicity shots?

If you shop around, then for 30 - 60 mins work locally it shouldn't be that expensive and if you set up at the venue earlier in the day it wouldn't appear unprofessional or like a photo opportunity (sic) in the eyes of the client!.

With Paul arranging a DJU Social meeting in a venue, maybe you could arrange for a photographer to attend, set up your various rigs and shoot everybody http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif at a group discount!. Just a thought http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif

I would think that any half decent photographer would easily be able to take a string of decent shots in a wide variety of light levels and then provide physical photo proofs of a publishing standard and format and also digital images for the website all from the same photos.

If you are intending on spending £100's on professionally produced literature, it seems to me to be skimping and false economy to play around with a bog standard 3 or 4 meg camera for your piccies.

This image was taken for me, in zero venue light conditions by a professional Photographer just after we had set up at a charity gig, and even though it wasn't planned and was done as a favour, its a lot better than my own attempts at capturing the lights. It was just unfortunate that the arriving staff got in the way http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/wallbash.gif

The thought had crossed my mind too Chris.

My bro-in-law enjoys photography in his spare time:

Ant Ward

I shall be using his services once I am down in Bournemouth!!! For free, hopefully!

Ste - here's you removed from the door background.
