I know of people who think nothing of travelling 400 or 500 miles just to attend the PLASA show!. ADS once travelled from Torquay to Blackpool just to meet up with some of us http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/scared.gif If the information is FREE and of interest to you and may on occasion even improve your business, personal skills or financial standing, isn't 100 miles a minor inconvenience?. I must admit, that I do get a bit annoyed when I see people like Marc and many others giving up some of their free time to help others in many aspects of DJ'ing, and then people whinging because it takes a bit of effort on their part in return. Chris, i do take in mind marks generous offer of giving free beat mixing to us, id love to learn more, but im just saying, ive never driven that far before and the inexperience of driving down to kent is a bit nerve-racking, but saying that, i could always look at getting the train down and another fellow dj picking me up/ http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif
ChrisPointon 0
QUOTE but im just saying, ive never driven that far before and the inexperience of driving down to kent is a bit nerve-racking Understood http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/smile.gif , but you can't avoid travelling distances and using motorways forever http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif , and so perhaps now is the time to start driving a little bit farther afield in order to build on that driving experience?. I'm not saying drive to kent this weekend, but perhaps have a run out on a Sunday when the motorways are quieter, and build your confidence?, going a little further each time. Avoiding driving a distance for whatever reason, may mean missing out on a lot of stuff - and there may come a time when you have to drive on the motorway.
Kane 0
Yeh, ive been doing that, i travelled to high wycombe last week down the m40, i must say thats the 3rd time ive been down it since passing my test in semtember and its still strange to be on the motorway, i cant really describe it, but im getting more experience, just puts me off when im in the left lane (outside/inside http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/533.gif ), and a mini bus full of OAPS going to london overtakes me http://www.dj-forum.co.uk/html//emoticons/rolleyes.gif

It should increase your confidence when drivng on motor ways. Have a look through Yellow pages for driving instuctors who do PassPlus. Him indoors used to teach driving. They are a very useful couple of lessons after you have passed. Sorry to go off topic Anne AJ's Mobile Disco Ryedale North Yorkshire PLI and PAT equipment

Sorry to go off topic Anne thanks for the advice anne, although i did take 1 pass plus lesson after passing, i was shown the basics of using the motorway like keeping track of the traffic ahead before overtaking etc... but i live out in the contryside so im always driving on A roads and dont really use the mootrway unless im going somewhere like high wycombe, stokenchuch, newbury etc... even when i go to reading i use the A road because its quicker. djwesty 0
oxford dont worry about driving in the left hand lane and being overtaken you drive at your speed as long as it is within reason, thats why the motorway has 3 lanes its worse for us more expirienced drivers to see drivers hugging the middle lane and driving slower than the inside lane, stay on the inside youll soon pick up convidence and be overtaking everything, keep trying chris your right ,thats why this dj forum is so helpful im not a dj but go with jamie on all his gigs and even i find it helpful to read the links, thanks to you all andy
