So following from your intro, what do you consider the 12 most important things you've learnt from entertaining over the 12 years which contributed towards your year as a professional? smile icon
AlexEntertainment 0
Ohhhh... tricky one! Most of my experience comes from my theatre/performing arts background... and Butlins! I was a Redcoat who DJ'ed in the main venues and then the nightclubs... great fun! Most of my DJing and entertaining went on the back burner while I tried to pursue a career in mechanics.....in the family business! BIG MISTAKE!!! Hence why the last year I've been "Professional" LOL I quit the company and went FULL STEAM into DJ/KJ and web design (I also do small event management as well ) But to give you TWELVE things... hmmmm..... I'll come back to ya on that one ;) ------------------------------------------- Web : http://www.alexentertainment.co.uk Web : http://www.alexskaraoke.co.uk Phone : 07525 645750 / 0800 612 4979 email : alex@alexentertainment.co.uk --------------------------------------------
Dukesy 0
I'll come back to ya on that one ;) The newbie DJs will likely find your experience a great help. Please do not hesitiate to put together article style, and I'll happily credit it to you in the Knowledgebase here. Out of interest, what is your role in small event management? AlexEntertainment 0
TBH ... At the moment the event management is something I started up to try and increase business for my Mobile DJing.... I have done small event management in the past and thought why not try to merge it with my DJing and KJing.... I have quite a few connections and had the creative drive so I thought " I can do this... everything from Idea Concept --[all the way to]----> Completion " --- But it's actually really difficult at times! LOL I'm currently running a 5 week event called Fest Factor (A local run talent contest ) and we're giving away a holiday. My event management is still something that is very small and I only ever manage 1 event at a time... it's too hard otherwise trying to juggle websites, DJing, Events... Drinking... LOL ------------------------------------------- Web : http://www.alexentertainment.co.uk Web : http://www.alexskaraoke.co.uk Phone : 07525 645750 / 0800 612 4979 email : alex@alexentertainment.co.uk --------------------------------------------
