Kev G 0
I need something i can use to record singers on the karaoke. So i can play a short clip of thier song as they walk back to the seat! I know of a friend years ago that used to use a mini disc player but these are no longer in production. Any ideas? cheap as possible. Ive been on ebay for minidisc but they seem to fetch silly money. Any one on here got one for sale?
Dukesy 0
For a quick result - Mixer to Mic In on laptop, software to record input. Job done. Those freebie audio grabbers should help you do the trick. If you want improved quality, get a dedicated sound card (external) such as an Edirol or something like this. Helps if the laptop is pretty nifty too (processing). May come with dedicated software or modern sequencer software with audio grabber / editor will do the trick. Also, these portable devices look fun Link and Link

Also don't some PC microphone inputs have 5v on the ring? (i'm thinking some soundblaster cards). nrgize 0
I have 2 Mini Disc players that I use for this, I picked them up off Ebay for about £40 each, and a cheapy flight case, have never had any problems with them. sometimes I put a camera on top of the monitor the singer is reading the lyrics off and then run an output to a DVD recorder I bought from tesco, this can be sold to the singer for a fiver making yourself quite a bit of money.
