I joined this forum, as you look a friendly and knowledgeable bunch :-) I'm looking to start a small mobile system, which will also be used to help my Partner with her Salsa events. I'll be targeting pubs and parties, so fairly standard music. I'll probably be using VirtualDJ with a dedicated laptop and external hard drive(s). I've brought the "Hecrules DJ Mk2" recently, and currently practicing basic mixing. By trade, I'm an electronic/software engineer, but outside work have stripped a nightclub dance area, rebuilt the DJ "Booth" and refurbished the 1980's era lights. (night club now demolished and McDonalds sits on the land ) I've also worked with "Orbital", they approached my employer at the time to build some "spinning projection screens", I spent quite a bit of time with their roadies during a rehersal in Esltree Studios (and managed to blag a free Indian from the Projector supplier rep ) I'm on a low budget, and trying to decide on amp and speakers & stands for <£300 ebay shows a few, but I'm still reading up....
